Wizz Air expands operations in Poland with 8 new routes from regional airports

Wizz Air is poised to significantly enhance its presence in the Polish market for the winter season of 2023/2024. The airline recently announced the deployment of its 30th aircraft based in Poland, specifically adding 11 at its Warsaw (WAW) hub. This expansion will be coupled with the inauguration of a new route linking Agadir (AGA) and Warsaw.

Eight New International Routes from Poland

As a low-cost carrier, Wizz Air plans to introduce eight new international routes from regional airports across Poland. This move is facilitated by the airline’s fleet expansion, enabling it to launch routes from Gdansk (GDN) to Spain, Denmark, and the Canary Islands, Katowice (KTW) to Denmark and Spain, Wroclaw (WRO) to Spain, and Krakow (KRK) to Spain.

Wizz Air’s Ongoing Commitment to Poland

Since commencing operations in Poland in 2004, Wizz Air has transported nearly 95 million passengers over a span of 19 years. The introduction of these 8 new routes pushes their offerings to a total of 181 routes in 27 countries, emanating from Poland. Further showing commitment to the Polish market, Wizz Air also plans to hire new employees from its expanding bases in the country.

“Last week we announced that we will increase our fleet in Warsaw to 11 aircraft, our 30th in the country. Now, we are thrilled to reveal the development of Wizz Air’s network in Poland by adding 8 new, long-awaited, and exciting routes for our Polish customers flying with us from regional airports”, announced Evelin Jeckel, Wizz Air’s Network Director.
