Porter Airlines extends its reach to Canada’s west coast by launching a new non-stop service between Ottawa (YOW) and Vancouver (YVR), marking the first time the airline connects the Canadian capital with British Columbia’s major city.
Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Porter Airlines, stated, “Ottawa plays a crucial role in Porter’s expanding North American network. We will persist in bolstering our presence in YOW and delivering exceptional service and travel options for economy class passengers.”
The airline will provide 1,848 weekly seats on the Ottawa (YOW) – Vancouver (YVR) route, competing with Air Canada, Flair Airlines, and WestJet. This makes Porter the third largest airline operator in this market segment.
Russell Atkinson, Director of Air Service Development for the Vancouver Airport Authority, expressed his satisfaction: “We are delighted to welcome Porter Airlines’ new YVR to YOW route as part of its burgeoning service to Western Canada. This additional service offers passengers another option when traveling to Ottawa and further destinations in eastern Canada.”
Ottawa-Vancouver Porter Flight Schedule
Starting July 26, 2023.
- Ottawa – Vancouver Flight PD 262 YOW 07:45 – YVR 16:03 daily flights.
- Vancouver – Ottawa Flight PD 267 YVR 18:00 – YOW 19:37 daily flights.
The Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, with a 132-seat single configuration, will operate the route. Promotional fares begin at $146 each way.
Passengers from Vancouver will enjoy convenient connections to Charlottetown (YYG), Halifax (YHZ), Moncton (YQM), New York/Newark (EWR), Toronto-Pearson (YYZ), Toronto-City (YTZ), and Thunder Bay (YQT) via Ottawa (YOW).

The new Ottawa (YOW) – Vancouver (YVR) route will supplement services between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR). Porter will operate up to five daily flights to YVR during the summer schedule, thanks to the addition of Embraer E195-E2s to its fleet, which has facilitated its continuous expansion to Canada’s west coast.
