Laser Airlines Resumes Operations to the Netherlands Antilles: A Guide to Travel and Entry Requirements

On May 5, Laser Airlines resumed its services to the Netherlands Antilles, reactivating the Caracas (CCS) – Curaçao (CUR) route after a four-year hiatus. The last Dutch Caribbean operation was on March 29, with a secondary route to Aruba (AUA).

Flight QL 2939, utilizing a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 registered as YV 3465, took off from Maiquetia International Airport (CCS) at 13:12 local time, landing 36 minutes later at Hato International Airport (CUR) at 13:48.

Commencing with promotional fares from USD 260 for round trips to Curaçao, Laser becomes the second airline offering regular commercial flights between Venezuela and the Netherlands Antilles.

Laser Airlines’ Curaçao Flight Schedule

  • Caracas – Curaçao Flight QL 2930 CCS 13:00 – CUR 14:00 Every Tuesday and Friday.
  • Curaçao – Caracas Flight QL 2931 CUR 15:30 – CCS 16:30 Every Tuesday and Friday.

Laser Airlines’ international services also extend to Panama – Tocumen (PTY), Santo Domingo – Las Americas (SDQ), and La Romana (LRM), with an anticipated reactivation of the Bogota (BOG) route pending regulatory approval.

Recent announcements from the Venezuelan Instituto Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil (INAC) have lifted all biosecurity protocols, making vaccination cards and PCR tests redundant. However, the Passenger Locator Form remains a necessary COVID-19 preventive measure.

The 2023 summer season will see an expanded array of South American destinations at Hato International Airport (CUR), including services to Bogota (BOG), Medellin (MDE), Barranquilla (BAQ), Paramaribo (PBM), Caracas (CCS), Belo Horizonte (CNF), Valencia (VLN), Las Piedras (LPS), and Caracas (CCS).

Curaçao Visa and Entry Requirements

Venezuelan travelers are granted a 90-day stay on the island with a visa.

  • Complete the Dutch Caribbean visa application form.
  • Possess a valid passport for the duration of the stay, ensuring at least two blank pages.
  • Hold a confirmed round-trip ticket.
  • Have a confirmed hotel booking or a justified accommodation arrangement.
  • Prove financial solvency of between US$150 and US$200 per day for the duration of the stay.
  • Carry medical insurance with a coverage minimum of US$15,000.
  • Present a yellow fever vaccination card.
  • Hold a migration card or DI CARD.
