Air Transat Expands Winter Schedule in Quebec: Connecting to Over 20 Sun-Drenched Destinations

Air Transat, a Canadian leisure airline, has unveiled its 2023/2024 winter schedule for the province of Quebec. The airline plans to operate over 180 flights per week during peak season, connecting Montreal (YUL) and Quebec City (YQB) to more than 20 sun-soaked destinations in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the United States.

Michèle Barre, Air Transat’s chief revenue officer, explains that the increased capacity for the upcoming winter season will allow the airline to offer more options to Quebec customers. This expansion includes a significant increase in the frequency of flights to popular southern destinations, strengthening its air network in the process.

New Destinations and Increased Frequencies

Compared to last season, Air Transat will operate over 30 additional weekly flights from Montreal and Quebec City. The carrier maintains its leading position in terms of seats per kilometer offered in the Canada-Dominican Republic market, according to data from Cirium.
In the Caribbean, the airline will operate flights to four Cuban cities from Montreal. Meanwhile, the Mexican market will see additional flights to Cancun (CUN) and Puerto Vallarta (PVR). Air Transat will also continue to consolidate its operations in high-growth markets, such as Colombia, Costa Rica, St. Maarten, and El Salvador.

In the United States, Air Transat plans to strengthen its services in Florida by adding flights to Orlando (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL).

Montreal and Quebec City Schedules

Air Transat has released detailed schedules for its sunny destinations from both Montreal (YUL) and Quebec City (YQB). Travelers can expect a variety of options, with destinations such as Acapulco, Cancun, Cartagena, Martinique, and many more being available from Montreal. Quebec City’s schedule includes flights to popular locations like Cancun, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, and Varadero, among others.

The airline’s ambitious expansion plans for the 2023/2024 winter season demonstrate its commitment to offering a wide range of options to travelers seeking sunny escapes during the colder months. With an increased frequency of flights and a broader selection of destinations, Air Transat is poised to become an even more attractive choice for Quebec-based vacationers.
