Sky High Aviation Services doubles its flight offer to Venezuela

Sky High Aviation Services is increasing its flights between Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Caracas (CCS), starting in June with a new night service. The Dominican airline continues to consolidate its offer in South America with a second daily operation to the Venezuelan capital and a new route to Cayenne, French Guiana (CAY).

According to data obtained by the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), 97,724 passengers were mobilized in 2022 between Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Maiquetia Airport (CCS) in 2,943 operations, a recovery of 82.5% when compared to pre-pandemic levels. Caracas (CCS) is the fourth most important South American market in the Dominican Republic, behind only Bogota (BOG), Medellin (MDE) and Lima (LIM).

Sky High will offer 2,716 seats per week on the Santo Domingo (SDQ) – Caracas (CCS) route and is the only Dominican carrier in the market where it competes with Venezolana, Avior Airlines and Laser.

Santo Domingo (SDQ) – Caracas (CCS)

  • Flight DO 710 SDQ 12:00 – 13:30 CCS daily flights.
  • Flight DO 712 SDQ 18:30 – 20:00 CCS daily flights.
Caracas (CCS) – Santo Domingo (SDQ)
  • Flight DO 711 CCS 08:30 – 10:00 SDQ daily flights.
  • Flight DO 713 CCS 15:00 – 16:30 SDQ daily flights.

All services will be operated in Embraer 190 aircraft with a capacity of 97 passengers in two classes (9 Business Class/88 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 188 one way. The second daily flight provides convenient connections to Havana, Cuba (HAV) and Miami, USA (MIA).

Sky High recently received authorization from the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) to offer scheduled passenger, cargo and mail flights between Venezuela and Panama.

Currently, the Dominican airline has 17 destinations in the Caribbean, two in South America and three in the United States (Miami, Tampa and Providence) and will have a schedule of more than 40 flights per week by June of this year. According to information from the JAC, the company mobilized 56,048 passengers in 3,284 flights last year, and was the second largest domestic airline operator in the Dominican Republic.
