ZIPAIR is expanding its U.S. offering with new nonstop service between Tokyo/Narita (NRT) and San Francisco (SFO) beginning June 2. This route will complement the low-cost carrier’s offerings in the state of California to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Jose (SJC).

By the 2023 summer season, the Japanese carrier will have a 9,860-seat offering between Tokyo and California according to data obtained through Cirium. Currently, the segment between Narita (NRT) and San Francisco is served by legacy carriers: United Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines, ZIPAIR will be the only low-cost carrier in this market.

- Tokyo/Narita – San Francisco Flight ZG 26 NRT 21:35 – 15:00 SFO Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- San Francisco – Tokyo/Narita Flight ZG 25 SFO 17:00 – 20:05+1 NRT Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 290 seats in two classes (18 ZIP Full-Flat/272 Economy) and Wi-Fi service available throughout the cabin. Promotional one-way fares are available from USD 885 in ZIP Full-Flat and USD 325 in Economy.
The low-cost carrier’s Asia-Pacific network has services to Bangkok – Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Seoul – Incheon (ICN) and Singapore (SIN), and will offer up to 35 weekly flights in this region by May. The transpacific offering includes operations to Honolulu (HNL), Los Angeles (LAX), San Jose (SJC) and soon San Francisco (SFO).

For the summer season, Tokyo will be the second largest transpacific destination with the largest weekly seat offering at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), behind only Taipei (TPE) according to data obtained through Cirum.
The market between the Japanese capital and San Francisco has surpassed pre-pandemic levels in terms of frequency and seat capacity. By early June, 47 weekly flights and a supply of 23,746 seats per week are scheduled between Tokyo and San Francisco.
