Etihad started flying its Airbus A350-1000 to Dublin

On March 26, Etihad Airways began flying the Airbus A350-1000 on the Abu Dhabi (AUH) – Dublin (DUB) route. The Gulf carrier is the only airline to operate the larger A350 variant in Ireland.

Flight EY 45 was operated with the 3.7-year-old A6-XWF-registered aircraft, which took off from Abu Dhabi Airport (AUH) at 03:12 local time and landed at Dublin Airport (DUB) at 07:54, after seven hours and 42 minutes.

Etihad’s A350 will be scheduled on select days during the summer season, increasing seating capacity in Business Class and Economy Class. The airline also operates at Dublin (DUB) with Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 336 passengers.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Irish Central Statistics Office (CSO), 224,264 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Dublin (DUB).

«We are very pleased to welcome Etihad’s A350 aircraft to Dublin Airport. It is testament to the success and popularity of the Dublin-Abu Dhabi route that Etihad has made the decision to fly its largest A350 this summer. Not only does the A350 offer a new level of comfort for Irish passengers, but it is also very efficient in terms of fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions«, said Vincent Harrison, Managing Director of Dublin Airport.

Etihad first landed in Dublin (DUB) in 2007, since then it has connected Irish travelers to popular destinations such as Sydney, Melbournes, Maldives and Seychelles via hub in Abu Dhabi (AUH).

Etihad’s A350-1000s also fly to Bangkok (BKK), Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), London Heathrow (LHR) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD).
