Corporación América Airports launches scholarship program for women in aviation, travel, and tourism

Corporación América Airports has launched a training scholarship program for women in the aviation, travel, and tourism industry. The «Women in Aviation, Travel & Tourism» (WIATT) initiative offers 100 scholarships for master’s degrees, undergraduate degrees, technical courses, and focused courses at various educational institutions to enhance professional development.

The program aims to bridge the gender gap in the industry, and offer women opportunities for growth and development. «We are committed to actions that promote gender equality and carry out projects that promote the training of women so that their careers continue to take off,» said Estefanía Cardozo, Head of Human Resources Development at Airports Uruguay.

The launch of WIATT was held at the Carrasco International Airport and included a panel of industry-leading women who shared their experiences with guests. The panelists emphasized the value of continuous training for professional development in dynamic industries such as aviation, travel, and tourism.

The participating institutions in the proposal are the ORT University, the University of the Enterprise, the Air School, the Uruguayan Hotel and Tourism Institute, the Punta del Este Flight School, the Carrasco Flight School, and the Langland Institute.

The scholarship program includes a variety of courses and programs such as an MBA, EMBA, Women Leaders Development Program, Cabin Crew and Cruises, Tourism Technician, Cabin Crew Aspirant, Airport Management, Basic Drone Operator, Ramp Operator and Signaler, language courses, and undergraduate and technical programs.

Interested applicants can visit the website of the participating institutions for more information and submit their applications by April 30, 2023. The WIATT initiative is a positive step towards promoting gender equality and empowering women in the aviation, travel, and tourism industry, encouraging them to take their careers to new heights.
