On April 20, Air Canada Cargo strengthened its international operations with the start of a new service to Basel (BSL), connecting one of Europe’s leading pharmaceutical hubs with the company’s extensive network from its main global hub in Toronto – Pearson (YYZ). The Canadian carrier is the only North American airline to operate at the EuroAirport.

«We are excited to return to Basel, this time with our freighters, to serve a key market in Europe for pharmaceuticals«, said Matthieu Casey, Air Canada Cargo’s chief commercial officer.
Flight AC 7222, operated on a Boeing 767-300 freighter registered C-GDUZ, took off from Lester Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at 13:21 hours and landed at Basel-Mulhouse-Fribourg Airport (BSL) at 10:04 the following day, after two stopovers in Halifax, Canada (YHZ) and Liège, Belgium (LGG).
On hand to celebrate the Air Canada Group team’s new service were Adam Dudar, Director of Cargo Revenue Management and Network Strategy; Nenad Gvozdenovic, Cargo Sales Manager; and Michael Sauer, Director of Regional Cargo Sales for Europe.

Air Canada Cargo will be operating with twice-weekly flights to Basel (BSL) on Boeing 767-300ER/BDSF and is the third cargo carrier to operate exclusively cargo at the EuroAirport.

Air Canada Cargo offers dedicated international cargo services to Frankfurt (FRA), Liege (LGG), Miami (MIA), Quito (UIO), Mexico City (MEX), Guadalajara (GDL), Madrid (MAD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Bogota (BOG) and now Basel (BSL).
