[REPORT] Flybondi’s inaugural flight between Córdoba and Salta

-

On March 2nd, Flybondi reinaugurated its regular flights between Córdoba and Salta, a route that had been suspended since the beginning of 2022. The low cost company will operate three times a week in Boeing 737-800, configured for 189 passengers in single class.

Salta became Flybondi’s third destination in Córdoba, while it reached the two regular routes in the city of Salta.

Thanks to an invitation from Flybondi, we had the chance to be on the inaugural flight last Thursday 2nd.

Flybondi trip report (Buenos Aires – Córdoba, Córdoba – Salta, Salta – Córdoba and Córdoba – Buenos Aires)

The adventure started very early, at five in the morning at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. Together with Celeste, from Flybondi, we took the first flight of the day to Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella International Airport in the city of Córdoba.

The departure time was 6:30 a.m., and boarding started at 5:30 a.m..

During Flybondi’s first flights of the day at Aeroparque, the aircraft are parked on the industrial apron, so the boarding process is longer. Both passengers and baggage have to go all the way around the airport, which takes a few minutes.

This flight, like the next three, was well-occupied.

Boarding was on time but there was a slight delay due to a passenger who did not check his bag, as he wanted to take it as hand luggage.

We took off on runway 31 at Aeroparque.

We arrived on time at Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella Airport and disembarked at position 07.

Initially, the scheduled departure time from the Córdoba capital was at 1:45 pm, but due to a delay in previous flights of the aircraft, it was rescheduled for 3:05 pm.

The inaugural flight was the Boeing 737 registered as LV-KHO, recently incorporated to the low cost airline’s fleet.

This aircraft partially maintains the scheme of its previous carrier, Garuda Indonesia.

At press time, the aircraft will continue without Flybondi livery for a few more months.

Arrived from Buenos Aires Aeroparque with more than 170 passengers on board. All of them disembarked at the airport.

Flybondi’s operations, for now, do not allow connections between flights, since they are point to point.

Prior to the pandemic Flybondi had started to commercialize flights with stopovers, such as TrelewBuenos AiresIguazú, but it did not last long due to the suspension due to COVID-19.

The aircraft had a good occupancy rate, over 80%. Flybondi had also told us that at least that day, the SaltaCordoba route had the highest number of seats sold.

This aircraft keeps the blue color in its seats, which were the ones it had when it operated with Garuda Indonesia, its previous airline.
