Flights to Venezuela: Turpial Airlines opens route between Valencia and Bogotá

Turpial Airlines expands its international operations with a new non-stop service between Bogotá (BOG) and Valencia (VLN) starting March 20. This is the company’s second route between Venezuela and Colombia.

Turpial is one of the airlines approved by the Colombian and Venezuelan authorities to offer scheduled passenger flights between the two countries. The company currently offers three weekly flights between El Dorado Airport (BOG) and Caracas (CCS), where it competes with the state-owned airline Satena.

With this new route, Arturo Michelena International Airport (VLN) will have international operations to the Dominican Republic, Panama and soon to Colombia. The last air operation between Valencia (VLN) and Bogotá (BOG) was in March 2020.

Flight schedule between Valencia and Bogota

  • Valencia (VLN) 14:00 – Bogota (BOG) 14:45 Monday and Wednesday.
  • Bogota (BOG) 06:45 – Valencia (VLN) 09:30 Tuesday and Thursday.

The route will be operated in Boeing 737 Classics aircraft and promotional fares are available from USD 430 round trip.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Civil Aeronautics, 8,980 passengers were mobilized with an occupancy factor of 58.56% in 2019 between Valencia (VLN) and El Dorado Airport (BOG). This was the fifth busiest route between Colombia and Venezuela.

The Turpial Airlines network at Arturo Michelena Airport (VLN) offers domestic services to Caracas – Maiquetía (CCS), Porlamar (PMV) and Santo Domingo del Táchira (STD); and international routes to Panama – Tocumen (PTY), Punta Cana (PUJ), Santo Domingo – Las Americas (SDQ) and soon Bogotá (BOG).
