#TBT: Aerochaco routes and flights in 1962

Aerochaco was an Argentine company based in Chaco created by the government of that province in the late 1950s. The airline’s main base was the Resistencia International Airport in the capital city of Chaco.

One of the main objectives of this carrier was related to the implementation of air connectivity in Chaco, in addition to connecting the province with other regions of the country.

The first aircraft incorporated by Aerochaco were the De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver configured for 7 passengers, and later on Twin Otter and Fairchild Hiller FH-227 were added.

In the 1980s, the company was privatized, changing its name to Aerolínea Federal Argentina (ALFA). Soon after, it ceased operations.

In 2008, Aerochaco was re-established by the province of Chaco. Governor Jorge Capitanich announced the creation of a trust fund to start operations of the new Aerochaco, which began in December of that year.

The fleet was composed of two McDonnell Douglas MD-87 and Jetstream 32 in conjunction with Macair.

Four years later it stopped flying after losing the support of the provincial and national government.
