EL AL expands its Florida offering with flights to Fort Lauderdale

EL AL expands its U.S. operations with seasonal service between Tel Aviv (TLV) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) beginning September 13, 2023. The company recently relocated its regional headquarters for North America to Margate, Florida.

«EL AL is thrilled to continue to open new routes and grow our service in the U.S. We will be operating more than 40 flights a week to Israel, continuing our mission to be the bridge between Israel and the world. Our nonstop, point-to-point route network provides the most direct service and offers our guests the most authentic experience between Israel and the U.S.,» said Marc Cavaliere, EL AL senior vice president, Americas.

Initially, this route will be available between the months of September and October to serve the Jewish High Holidays. In addition, nonstop service between Tel Aviv (TLV) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is planned to operate year-round beginning in spring 2024.

EL AL will continue to expand its offerings in Florida, starting May 25, 2023, the airline will increase from 5 to 6 weekly flights between Tel Aviv (TLV) and Miami (MIA), this service is operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a seating capacity of 271 seats. In addition, during 2022 the airline mobilized more than 100,000 passengers in this segment.

Flight Itinerary

  • Tel Aviv – Fort Lauderdale Flight LY 21 TLV 01:00 – FLL 07:30.
  • Fort Lauderdale – Tel Aviv Flight LY 22 FLL 21:00 – TLV 04:05+1.

The service will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 238 seats in three classes (20 Business Class/35 Premium Economy/183 Economy) and promotional fares are available starting at USD 724 each way.

  • Flights will be available on September 13, 20 and 27 and October 5, 10 and 12.
  • EL AL is the only Middle Eastern carrier to operate passenger flights in Fort Lauderdale.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, by the 2023 summer season, EL AL will offer 20,742 weekly seats between Israel and the United States. Currently, the airline offers non-stop flights from Tel Aviv (TLV) to Boston (BOS), Newark (EWR), New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX) and Miami (MIA).
