Alaska Airlines launches three new routes from San Diego

Alaska Airlines expands its California operations with new nonstop service from San Diego (SAN) to Eugene, Oregon (UEG), Washington – Dulles (IAD) and Tampa (TPA). The airline continues to expand its coast-to-coast flight offerings, giving Southern California travelers more travel options.

«Our guests in San Diego asked for more nonstop flights to the East Coast and we are excited to add service to both the nation’s capital and Florida’s vibrant Gulf Coast,» said Neil Thwaites, California regional vice president for Alaska Airlines.

Alaska Airlines is starting new nonstop service from San Diego to Washington, D.C., Tampa and Eugene, Oregon.

The Seattle-based airline is the leading carrier offering more destinations to the East Coast from San Diego (SAN) with nonstop service to Boston (BOS), Newark (EWR), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and soon Tampa (TPA) and Washington – Dulles (IAD).

With these new operations, Alaska will serve thirty-five nonstop destinations from San Diego (SAN) providing the most routes of any airline. The airline connects SAN to northeastern and northwestern California, Mexico, the main Hawaiian Islands, Florida and other destinations in the central United States.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Alaska Airlines for the 2023 summer season will have 93,0111 weekly seat offerings at San Diego (SAN), it is the third largest air carrier at SAN in terms of seats per offered seat kilometers (ASK).

Washington – Dulles (IAD)

Starts June 15, 2023.

  • San Diego – Washington Flight AS 400 SAN 08:00 – IAD 16:10 daily flights operated by Boeing 737-9.
  • Washington – San Diego Flight AS 451 IAD 10:15 – SAN 12:30 daily flights operated by Boeing 737-9.
Tampa (TPA)

Starts on October 4, 2023.

  • San Diego – Tampa Flight AS 476 SAN 08:40 – TPA 16:25 daily flights operated by Boeing 737-9.
  • Tampa – San Diego Flight AS 599 TPA 17:30 – SAN 19:40 daily flights operated by Boeing 737-9.
Eugene, Oregon (EUG)

Starts June 15, 2023.

  • San Diego – Eugene Flight AS 3477 SAN 14:30 – EUG 16:50 daily flights operated by Embraer 175.
  • Eugene – San Diego Flight AS 3477 EUG 11:30 – SAN 13:50 daily flights operated by Embraer 175.
