Elbit Systems to supply doors for the 777 and 777X freighters

Elbit Systems was awarded the contract for the supply of structural elements to Boeing, which includes the production and supply of main deck cargo doors for the Boeing 777 Freighter and 777-8 Freighter.

The contract will be carried out through its subsidiary Cyclone. This company offers a wide range of services for the aerospace industry. Among others, they have design and production capabilities for composite structural assemblies. They also have maintenance, installation, upgrade, and product integration capabilities around the world. The company is one of the world’s leading suppliers of aircraft doors.

Elbit Systems is a technology company involved in a wide range of defense, homeland security, and commercial programs around the world. The company operates in the areas of aerospace, land and naval systems, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, unmanned aircraft systems, advanced electro-optics, and munitions, among others.

Yoram Shmuely, CEO of Elbit Systems Aerospace, said of the agreement, «We (the company) are proud to be the supplier of doors for Boeing’s 777 Freighter. That the Chicago-based company selected us attests to our past performance.»

All industry players should benefit from the increased demand for freighter aircraft due to the growing use of e-commerce, especially in the wake of the pandemic,» the executive added.
