Sky High Aviation Services launched flights to the United States

On December 13, Sky High Aviation Services landed for the first time in the United States with a service between Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Miami (MIA). The airline becomes the sixth airline operator in the MIA- Dominican Republic market.

Flight DO 905, operated by Embraer registered with registration number P4-KCI, took off from Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) at 20:43 local time and landed at Miami International Airport (MIA) at 21:50, after two hours and seven minutes.

According to data from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the Dominican Republic in 2021 was one of the international markets with the greatest recovery in the United States where 10,279,273 passengers were mobilized, this represents an increase of 7.2% compared to 2019 levels.

Flight Itinerary

  • Santo Domingo – Miami Flight DO 905 SDQ 20:30 – MIA 22:30 Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Miami – Santo Domingo Flight DO 906 MIA 10:00 – SDQ 12:00 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

The route will be operated in Embraer E190 aircraft with a capacity of 97 passengers in two classes (9 Business Class/88 Economy Class) and promotional fares start at USD 377 round trip.

According to DOT data 515,469 passengers were mobilized in 2021 between Miami (MIA) and Santo Domingo (SDQ). It was the third largest route between the Dominican Republic and the United States. Currently the state of Florida is the Caribbean nation’s second largest air market to the U.S., after New York.

Miami (MIA) becomes Sky High’s 15th destination and the first in the United States, with plans to soon fly to Providence (PVD). The Dominican airline’s current network includes Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Bonaire, Tortola, Curaçao, Guadeloupe, Havana, Martinique, Saint Maarten, Saint Kitts, Santiago de Cuba and Caracas.
