American Airlines increases flights between Dallas and Europe

American Airlines is strengthening its transatlantic offerings from its Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) mega hub to Europe for the 2023 summer season, increasing its operations in France and Italy. The airline will connect DFW to seven destinations in the Old Continent.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, American will have 47,348 weekly seats on offer between Dallas (DFW) and Europe in July 2023, representing a 90.3% recovery in capacity compared to pre-pandemic levels.

France

From June 1 through September 5, American will increase the route between DFW and the French capital from 7 to 14 weekly operations. The airline last operated twice-daily flights to Paris (CDG) from Texas in October 2019.

Flight schedule

Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) – Paris (CDG).
  • AA Flight 48 DFW 17:10 – CDG 09:25+1 daily flights.
  • AA Flight 24 DFW 21:00 – CDG 13:25+1 daily flights.
Paris (CDG) – Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW)
  • AA Flight 49 CDG 11:25 – DFW 14:40 daily flights.
  • AA Flight 25 CDG 15:25 – DFW 19:00 daily flights.

All services will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft seating 285 passengers in three classes (30 Business Class/21 Premium Economy/234 Economy).

Italy

From June 1 through September 5, the airline will increase its operations between Dallas (DFW) and Rome – Fiumicino (FCO) to two daily flights, doubling its offering compared to 2022 levels. Currently, American is the only carrier offering nonstop service between Texas and Italy.

  • Flight AA 240 DFW 14:40 – FCO 08:00+1 daily flights.
  • Flight AA 290 DFW 18:35 – FCO 11:45+1 daily flights.
Rome/Fiumicino (FCO) – Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW)
  • Flight AA 239 FCO 10:00 – DFW 14:50 daily flights.
  • Flight AA 289 FCO 13:45 – DFW 18:35 daily flights.

The services will be operated on Boeing 787-9 and Boeing 787-8 with a capacity of 234 seats in three classes (20 Business Class/28 Premium Economy/186 Economy).

FCO service details

Effective April 4, 2023, AA 240/AA 239 flights change equipment from Boeing 777-200ER to Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

  • Amsterdam (AMS): daily flights on Boeing 787-8.

  • Frankfurt (FRA): daily flights on Boeing 777-200ER and select periods on Boeing 787-8.
  • Paris (CDG): twice daily flights on Boeing 787-9.
  • Rome – Fiumicino (FCO): twice daily on Boeing 787-9 and 787-8.
