Venezuela: Rutaca started operations between Barquisimeto and Dominican Republic

On November 1, Rutaca started its non-stop operations between Barquisimeto (BRM) and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (SDQ). The airline becomes the second airline to offer international services in the state of Lara.

Flight 5R 1500 was operated in a Boeing 737 registered with registration number YV645T, which took off from Jacinto Lara International Airport (BRM) to the Dominican capital with 122 passengers and on the return flight from Las Americas Airport (SDQ) to Barquisimeto (BRM) arrived with sixty-six passengers.

The celebration was attended by Adolfo Pereira, Governor of the State of Lara, and representatives of different governmental entities such as the Tourism Corporation (Cortulara), the Legislative Council of Lara and the Secretariat of Public Works, Services and Housing.

«Promoting the eighteen productive engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda and pointing towards the «Lara Potencia», the airline Rutaca started flights from the Jacinto Lara International Airport of Barquisimeto to Caracas, Venezuela and Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic» said Adolfo Pereira, Governor of Lara State.

Flight Itinerary

  • Barquisimeto – Santo Domingo Flight 5R 1500 BRM 09:30 – SDQ 11:00 Tuesday.
  • Santo Domingo – Barquisimeto Flight 5R 1501 SDQ 15:00 – BRM 16:30 Tuesday.

The route will be operated in Boeing 737-300 aircraft with a capacity of 122 passengers and promotional fares are available from USD 330 round trip. Passengers have the option to make onward connections at Las Americas Airport (SDQ).

With this new service, Rutaca will offer three routes between Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, where it will offer 1,220 weekly seats in this market.

Rutaca’s international flight schedule

  • Caracas (CCS) – Punta Cana (PUJ) – Caracas (CCS): Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Maracaibo (MAR) – Santo Domingo (SDQ) – Maracaibo (MAR): Mondays and Fridays.
  • Barquisimeto (BRM) – Santo Domingo (SDQ) – Barquisimeto (BRM): Tuesday.

In addition, the airline based in Ciudad Bolivar will offer a new domestic route from the Venezuelan capital, increasing its domestic network to eight destinations.

  • Flight 5R 1327 CCS 18:00 – BRM 18:40 Wednesday.
  • Flight 5R 1328 BRM 06:15 – CCS 06:55 Thursday
