Turkish Airlines started direct flights to Panama

On October 30, Turkish Airlines began operating non-stop flights between Istanbul (IST) and Panama City (PTY), this service ratifies the airline’s future confidence in the Panamanian market.

Flight TK 903 was operated in a Boeing 787 Dreamliner registered with the registration TC-LLM, which took off from Istanbul Airport (IST) at 14:52 local time and landed at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) at 19:51, after 12 hours and 58 minutes. The Turkish carrier is currently the fifth largest long-haul airline operator in Panama City (PTY).

«We proudly celebrate a historic flight between Istanbul and Panama. This was the first direct flight operated between two major hubs. Panama, as the hub of the Americas, is now directly connected to its gateway to the rest of the world with Turkish Airlines,» said Arif Tatoğlu, Turkish Airlines Country Manager for Panama & Venezuela.

Flight Itinerary

  • Istanbul – Panama City Flight TK 903 IST 14:00 – PTY 20:15 Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Panama City – Istanbul Flight TK 904 PTY 21:45 – IST 18:25+1 Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 300 seats in two classes (30 Business Class/270 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 1000. This service will be complemented with daily flights operated via Bogota (BOG) in Boeing 777-300ER, Turkish Airlines will offer 10 weekly flights to Panama.

According to data compiled by Aviacionline through Tocumen Airport statistics, 78,301 passengers were mobilized in the period January – September 2022 between Panama City (PTY) and Istanbul (IST).

Tocumen S.A. General Manager Raffoul Arab stated that the company’s decision to build a direct route to Tocumen Airport strengthens confidence in the Panamanian market, making Panama the most popular link in the Americas, boosting tourism, the economy and the nation’s social sector.
