Sun Country Airlines will operate fifteen new routes from Minneapolis by summer 2023

With the start of the summer season, Sun Country Airlines announced a major expansion from its main hub in Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP) with fifteen new routes. These new operations will primarily serve those popular beach and snow destinations for Minnesota travelers, most of these new services are located on the east coast and central United States.

«The new service to Charlotte, Columbus, Kansas City and St. Louis will coordinate with our Major League Soccer (MLS) charter service. The new service to Atlantic City will support our casino charter customers. In addition, each of Sun Country’s interline partners* currently flies out of JFK, which will create more opportunities for our customers to travel internationally,» said Grant Whitney, Chief Revenue Officer for Sun Country Airlines.

With this expansion, Sun Country will operate more than 120 routes serving more than 90 airports in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, providing travelers with flights at affordable fares. The airline also has interline partners: EVA Air, China Airlines, Condor Airlines, Emirates, Icelandair and Hawaiian Airlines.

Sun Country’s new service schedule at Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP)

  • Atlantic City (ACY): Mondays and Fridays, beginning May 1, 2023.
  • Charlotte (CLT): Mondays and Fridays, beginning April 13, 2023.
  • Colorado Springs (COS): Thursday and Sunday, beginning June 8, 2023.
  • Columbus, Ohio (CMH): Monday and Friday, beginning May 4, 2023.
  • Detroit (DTW): Mondays and Fridays, beginning May 5, 2023; increases to four flights weekly beginning June 1, 2023 with additional services on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Kansas City (MCI): Mondays and Fridays, beginning May 29, 2023.
  • Louisville (SDF): Mondays and Fridays, beginning May 4, 2023.
  • Milwaukee (MKE): Friday and Sunday, beginning May 5, 2023.
  • New York (JFK): Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, beginning April 13, 2023.
  • Omaha (OMA): Mondays and Fridays, beginning May 26, 2023.
  • Rapid City (RAP): Mondays and Fridays, beginning June 16, 2023.
  • Richmond (RIC): Mondays and Fridays, beginning May 19, 2023.
  • St. Louis (STL): Mondays and Fridays, beginning May 22, 2023.
  • Traverse City (TVC): Mondays and Fridays, beginning June 16, 2023.
  • Wilmington (ILM): Thursdays and Sundays, beginning June 1, 2023.

Flights will be operated on Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a seating capacity of 186 (30 Best/156 Standard).
