Summer 2023: Norwegian launches more than twenty new routes from Denmark and Norway

Norwegian Air Shuttle today announced that it will offer new routes from Norway and Denmark during the 2023 northern summer season. The company said its summer offer will reach 1.5 million seats across all markets.

With the launch of the new services, the airline will have a network of 300 routes between a total of 114 airports between the end of April and the end of October 2023.

New routes from Norway

From and to Oslo-Gardermoen Airport (OSL):

  • Tenerife South (TFS): twice weekly flights from 28 March. The route is already operated regularly during the autumn and winter season. However, in 2023 it will also be available during the summer.
  • Gazipaşa-Alanya (GZP): two flights per week and up to three services per day on public holidays. Starts on 6 May.
  • Bari (BRI): twice weekly. Starts on 22 June.
  • Bergamo-Orio al Serio (BGY): twice weekly. Starts on 22 June.
  • Bologna (BLQ): twice weekly. Starts on 22 June.
  • Bucharest (OTP): twice weekly. Starts on 23 June.
  • Porto (OPO): twice weekly. Starts on 23 June.
  • Skopje (SKP): twice weekly. Starts on 23 June.
  • Sofia (SOF): twice weekly. Starts on 24 June.
  • Thessaloniki (SKG): twice weekly. Starts on 24 June.

From and to Bergen-Flesland Airport (BGO):

  • Bergamo-Orio al Serio (BGY): twice weekly. Starts on 30 April.
New Norwegian routes from Norway for the summer season of 2023.

Moreover, Norwegian will increase the number of frequencies between Haugesund-Karmøy Airport (HAU) and the Spanish airports of Alicante (ALC) and Málaga (AGP). Both routes, which were inaugurated on 7 October, will be served twice a week from the beginning of April. Flights to Alicante will continue throughout the year.

“With more routes and more frequent departures, we are now well prepared for an increase in demand for tickets for the upcoming summer season”, said Magnus Maursund, Executive Vice President of Networks, Pricing and Planning.

New routes from Denmark

By summer 2023, Norwegian will have a network of 61 destinations from Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport (CPH). In total, the airline’s capacity at the air station serving Denmark’s capital will increase by approximately 450.000 seats.

From and to Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport (CPH):

  • Palermo (PMO): twice weekly. Starts on 1 April.
  • Pula (PUY): twice weekly. Starts on 3 June.
  • Bologna (BLQ): twice weekly. Starts on 22 June.
  • Naples (NAP): twice weekly. Starts on 22 June.
  • Oporto (OPO): twice weekly. Starts on 22 June.
  • Bordeaux (BOD): twice weekly. Starts on 23 June.
  • Tenerife South (TFS): returns to the summer schedule for the first time since 2019 and will be marketed throughout the year.
  • Madrid-Barajas (MAD): returns to the summer schedule for the first time since 2019 and will be marketed throughout the year.
  • Manchester (MAN): three weekly flights between April and October. Two weekly flights between 22 June and 6 August.
  • Vilnius (VNO): three flights a week during the summer. Starts on 18 November 2022 and will be marketed year-round.
New Norwegian routes from Denmark for the summer season of 2023.

“The summer season we have just left behind has shown that the desire to travel in the Nordic countries is quite high, and we expect that development to continue in 2023”, commented Magnus Maursund. “We look forward to welcoming our customers on board on the way to new and exciting experiences across Europe”, he added.

Norwegian is in the process of hiring approximately 120 new employees for its Copenhagen hub, where the company will base a total of thirteen aircraft.
