Frontier Airlines started flights between Orlando and Guadalajara

This Sunday (6) Frontier Airlines inaugurated its flights between Orlando (MCO) and Guadalajara (GDL), this is the second non-stop service of the company to the capital of Jalisco. The airline will offer 746 weekly seats on this new route.

Flight FFT 223 was operated in an Airbus A320 registered with registration number N350FR, which took off from Orlando International Airport (MCO) at 15:18 local time and landed at Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (GDL) at 17:43, after three hours and 25 minutes.

Frontier Guadalajara

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) 34,290 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Guadalajara (GDL) and Orlando (MCO) in 236 operations. This segment is the largest market between the capital of Jalisco and Florida; Frontier is the only U.S. operator on this route and will compete with Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris.

Flight Itinerary

  • Orlando – Guadalajara Flight FFT 223 MCO 14:38 – GDL 17:36 Thursday and Sunday.
  • Guadalajara – Orlando Flight FFT 222 GDL 18:49 – MCO 23:40 Thursday and Sunday.

The route will be operated in Airbus A320neo aircraft with a capacity of 186 seats in single configuration and promotional fares start at USD 89 each way. This operation will be available throughout the year.

This new service complements the company’s operations between Las Vegas (LAS) and Guadalajara (GDL), which began on May 20. Based on Cirium data, Frontier will offer 2,232 weekly seats between the capital of Jalisco and the United States.

According to data compiled by AFAC, Frontier between January – September 2022 has moved 999,933 passengers between the U.S. and Mexico in 6,973 operations. The Denver-based airline offers non-stop service to San Jose de los Cabos (SJD), Guadalajara (GDL), Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Monterrey (MTY) and Cancun (CUN).
