Frontier Airlines will have a new crew base at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in May 2023. The base is estimated to employ 120 pilots and 220 flight attendants in its first year of operation.
Combined with the airport positions, the airline is expected to generate more than $78 million annually in local wages, with further growth anticipated in the coming years.
Frontier has established itself as the fastest growing airline operator at Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) since 2019 and is currently the fifth largest U.S. carrier with the most capacity at DFW according to data compiled by Cirium. By spring 2023, the carrier is adding five new routes to the East Coast, California, and the Caribbean.
«Opening a crew base here demonstrates our strong commitment to continued growth and service expansion. Frontier is an ultra-low-cost carrier and consumers appreciate the value our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ approach to air travel offers now more than ever,» said Barry Biffle, President and Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Airlines.
«DFW Airport is pleased to be a part of Frontier Airlines’ growth here in North Texas,» said DFW Airport General Manager Sean Donohue.
«We look forward to welcoming new Frontier employees to the Dallas Fort Worth region,» Donohue added.
