Aeromar celebrates 35 years: «We are a leading aviation player in several regions of the country»

-

Mexican airline Aeromar celebrated this week the 35th anniversary of the start of its scheduled commercial services. On 7 November 1987, the company made its first flight, linking the airports of Toluca and Acapulco. Since then it has become Mexico’s leading regional airline operator.

«Aeromar is a one hundred percent Mexican company and we are celebrating 35 years of history in the country, promoting the regional offer with the firm commitment to continue offering new routes and consolidate our national presence», said Danilo Correa, company’ CEO. «We are a leading aviation player in several regions of the country», he added.

Aeromar currently has a fleet of ten airplanes, all of them ATR 42-600 and 72-600 models. The company is a traditional user of the aircraft developed by the French-Italian manufacturer. With these regional turboprops, which are among the most popular models on the market in this segment, the airline serves a route network consisting mainly of domestic flights.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline via the Cirium platform, during November it will operate scheduled domestic services to and from Mexico City (MEX), Acapulco (ACA), Aguascalientes (AGU), Cancún (CUN), Chetumal (CTM), Ciudad Victoria (CVM), Colima (CLQ), Cozumel (CZM), Guadalajara (GDL), Ixtapa Zihuatanejo (ZIH), Ixtepec (IZT), Mazatlán (MZT), Mérida (MID), Monterrey (MTY), Piedras Negras (PDS), Puerto Escondido (PXM), Puebla (PBC), Puerto Vallarta (PVR), San Luis Potosí (SLP), Tepic (TPQ) and Villahermosa (VSA).

On the other hand, Aeromar mantains three international destinations. Two of them are in Texas, United States: the company offers regular services between Mexico City and Laredo (LRD), and from Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey to McAllen (MFE). In addition, in November it will operate a total of 62 flights between Havana (HAV), Cancún and Mérida.

The air connection between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta has the highest number of scheduled seats this month. It is followed by the routes between Mexico City and Acapulco, and between Mexico City and Colima.

According to data provided by Cirium, Aeromar will offer a total of 79.776 seats during November. The figure represents a 65% recovery of the total number of seats available compared to the same month in 2019, the year before the start of the pandemic.
