Russia once again attacks Ukrainian power infrastructure with missiles

Early in the morning, the Russian Armed Forces again carried out a large cruise missile attack on Ukrainian electrical infrastructure and command centers.

According to Russian media

Russia’s state-run Interfax news agency reported a new large-scale attack on military command and power facilities in Ukraine. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lt. Gen. Igor Konashenkov, during a briefing to local press, made the following statements:

«The Russian Armed Forces have continued attacks with long-range precision weapons, both air and sea, against military command systems and energy infrastructure in Ukraine.»

According to Konashenkov, «the objectives of the attack have been fulfilled.» «All designated targets have been hit,» he sentenced at the end.

The Russian Tu-160 strategic bomber can carry up to 12 long-range cruise missiles in its two weapons holds.

The Ukrainian version

The Ukrainian Air Force offers an alternative version of events. According to its report, more than 50 long-range cruise missiles of the X-101/X-555 types were launched from Tu-95 and Tu-160 bombers belonging to the Russian strategic aviation and from ships of the Caspian Fleet.

However, Ukrainian air defense units are credited with shooting down 44 of these missiles, of which 18 were shot down in the central region, 12 by the southern command, 9 in the east and 5 in the west of the country.

No electricity or water

Regardless of the reports provided by either side, the fact is that information continues to emerge on social networks confirming that the situation for the inhabitants of the main Ukrainian cities is not improving.

Several reports agree that, as a result of the first massive missile attack, in addition to today’s one, a large part of the city of Kiev is without electricity supply. And without electricity, 80% of the citizens were left without household access to drinking water.

«Currently, due to the emergency situation in Kiev, 80% of consumers are still without water supply,» the city’s mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram.

Splashing Moldova

According to the Moldovan Interior Ministry, the wreckage of a Russian cruise missile, shot down by Ukrainian air defenses, fell in the village of Naslavcha on the Ukrainian border. Fortunately there are no casualties to report.
