Lufthansa Technik to supply components for Condor’s Airbus A330neo fleet

Lufthansa Technik, the German airline’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) division, will supply components for Condor’s future Airbus A330neo fleet.

The two companies sealed the deal today at the MRO Europe conference in London. Under the terms of the contract, Lufthansa Technik will supply components and spare parts for Condor’s A330-900neo fleet for an initial period of ten years.

It will also provide logistics and components exchange services. The agreement also includes the establishment of a Condor operations centre at Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA).

«The close proximity and long-standing cooperation between the two companies will enable Condor to maximize efficiency in its technical operations and ensure the best possible availability of the spare parts it needs», the two companies said. Currently, Lufthansa Technik already provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Condor’s fleet.

«The supply of necessary components for our new aircraft is an important aspect for the service entry and operation of the A330neo», said Christian Schmitt, COO of Condor. «The continued cooperation with Lufthansa Technik ensures for us a consistently optimal support according to the highest quality standards in this area», he added.

«New contracts with Condor are always important milestones for us, because we enjoy a trustful collaboration for decades», commented Kai-Stefan Roepke, Vice President Corporate Sales Europe, Middle East and Africa at Lufthansa Technik. «Nevertheless, this milestone is a special one for me», he added. «Not only because with the A330neo, for the first time, Airbus’ latest aircraft program will also benefit from our component services, but also because we were able to win this contract in a very competitive environment», he explained.

In mid-2021, Condor confirmed that it would replace its classics Boeing 767-300ER with Airbus A330-900neo. The company ordered sixteen aircraft, to be delivered between 2022 and 2024. The first of them should join the German airline’s fleet this autumn.
