Danish airline Sun-Air has resumed its route from London City Airport (LCY) to the city of Billund, Denmark, using its Dornier 328 fleet. Billund is home to Lego’s world headquarters as well as the Legoland resort.
The service is operated six times a week using the company’s 35-seat Dornier 328jets. Thanks to a franchise agreement with British Airways, BA Executive Club members will be able to earn points when traveling on this route. Sun-Air has a fleet of fourteen aircraft of the type and is the only European carrier to offer scheduled flights with this aircraft model.
One particularity of the airline is that the flight experience is notoriously different from that offered by British Airways, being assimilated to the British company’s first-class services. Its flights include a full meal (dinner/lunch/snack or breakfast) plus an optional meal.

London City Airport director Anne Doyere said: «We have rebuilt our network, and we are delighted to welcome back Sun-Air and connections to Billund. We are optimistic about the rest of the year, especially as many key companies have expressed a desire to return to operating from our airport».
According to Business Traveller, British Airways will add capacity on its main routes from London City Airport. Edinburgh will increase from 30 weekly flights in August to 46 in September, and Dublin from 23 to 36. Swiss and Lufthansa, meanwhile, will respectively offer 38 weekly flights to Zurich and 36 to Frankfurt starting this month.
