Mexico: Copa Airlines completes first flight to Felipe Angeles International Airport

-

On Monday morning, September 26, Copa Airlines inaugurated its new route to Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), located in the Mexico City metropolitan area.

«We are pleased to continue to increase the offer and strengthen the air connection between Mexico and Panama with the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean. Through the inauguration of this new option to Mexico City and the State of Mexico, we seek to offer a variety of international connections in a safe and secure manner and world-class service, while contributing to the development of tourism and economic activity in these areas,» said Maria Luisa Navarro, senior director of government relations for Copa Airlines.

This new flight becomes the airline’s new frequency to the capital, complementing its current flights to Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport (AICM), allowing Copa Airlines to increase connectivity and consolidate its operations in Mexico.

The arrival of Copa Airlines’ new route at Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) contributes to the strengthening of connectivity between Mexico and Panama, as well as other important outbound markets in Central and South America, through this new airport, which is part of the Metropolitan Airport System, along with those of Mexico City and Toluca, which at their maximum capacity will be able to receive around 140 million passengers and 4 million tons of cargo.

«The AIFA is one of the most emblematic works of the current administration that has the necessary infrastructure to improve and generate airport, complementary and commercial services to meet current demand, and this will undoubtedly represent an engine of growth, development and competitiveness at national and international level,» said Gen. Isidoro Pastor, general director of the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA).

Copa Airlines flight CM119 to the new AIFA will operate three weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing at 9:20 a.m. from Tocumen International Airport, Panama and arriving at Felipe Angeles International Airport at 1:16 p.m.. The return flight CM117 will depart on the same days at 3:29 p.m., arriving in Panama at 7:22 p.m. All times shown correspond to the local time zone.
