This Friday (2), Korean Air resumed operations to Spain after two and a half years, resuming the route between Seoul (ICN) and Barcelona (BCN) with three weekly flights and becoming the eighth European destination resumed by the company. The airline’s last operation in the Iberian country was on March 15, 2020: services ceased in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
Flight KE 915 was operated in a Boeing 787 Dreamliner registered with the registration number HL7209, the aircraft took off from Incheon International Airport (ICN) at 11:54 local time and landed at El Prat Airport (BCN) at 18:31, the flight lasted 13 hours and 36 minutes.
According to data compiled by Aviacionline through Aena Estadísticas, Korean Air mobilized 187,486 passengers and 27,141.6 tons of cargo in 1,054 air operations in Spain. The South Korean airline has scheduled its return to Madrid (MAD) for March 26, 2023 with three weekly flights in Boeing 787, it is expected that for the next summer season it will recover its offer and capacity to Spain.

- Seoul Incheon – Barcelona Flight KE 915 ICN 11:40 – BCN 19:00 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
- Barcelona – Seoul Incheon Flight KE 916 BCN 21:00 – ICN 16:05+1 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 269 seats in two classes (24 Business Class/245 Economy) and promotional fares are available from 576.85 euros each way.
According to data obtained by Aena Statistics prior to the pandemic between Seoul Incheon (ICN) and Barcelona (BCN) 206,179 passengers and 872 tons of cargo were moved in 872 air operations, it was the fifth busiest intercontinental route of El Prat Airport (BCN), Korean Air currently competes in this market with Asiana Airlines that offers two weekly flights in Boeing 777-200ER.
The South Korean flag carrier becomes the third Asia-Pacific carrier to resume non-stop services to the Catalan capital, with Air China and Cathay Pacific still expected to return as health restrictions in their region ease.
