On September 1, Korean Air resumed its flights between Seoul (ICN) and Rome (FCO) with three weekly flights: with the return of this route the company restores its offer of destinations in Italy operated before the pandemic. The airline’s last operation in the Italian capital was on March 15, 2020.
Flight KE 931 was operated on a Boeing 777 registered with the registration number HL7751, the aircraft took off from Incheon International Airport (ICN) at 13:15 local time and landed at Fiumicino Airport (FCO) at 18:40, the flight duration was 12 hours and 25 minutes.

In July this year, the South Korean airline resumed its non-stop services to Milan Malpensa (MXP) with three weekly flights, Italy is one of the company’s most important markets in Europe: according to data obtained by Aviacionline through Ente Nazionale Per L’ Aviazione Civile (ENAC) in 2019 Korean Air mobilized 265,367 passengers, the third largest Asia Pacific air operator in Italy.
Flight itinerary
- Seoul Incheon – Rome Fiumicino Flight KE 931 ICN 13:00 – FCO 19:00 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Rome Fiumicino – Seoul Incheon Flight KE 932 FCO 21:25 – ICN 15:40+1 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The route will be operated on Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with a capacity of 261 passengers in three classes (8 Kosmo Sleeper/28 Prestige Plus/225 Economy) and promotional fares are available from 575 euros each way.
According to data compiled by Aviacionline through AirPortal 430,882 passengers and 18,295 tons of cargo were mobilized in 1,645 air operations in 2019 between Seoul (ICN) and Rome (FCO): the main Asia – Pacific route from Fiumicino Airport (FCO), where Korean Air was the airline with the largest supply of seats.
The carrier currently offers a capacity of 2,874 seats per week between the South Korean capital and Italy, a 41.7% recovery over the same period prior to the pandemic.
According to data obtained by AirPortal in 2019 Italy was South Korea’s fourth largest European market, as 578,945 passengers and 52,592 tons of cargo were mobilized in 2,876 air operations.
