Flybondi obtains certification for ILS CAT II low visibility operations

-

After completing an arduous certification process, the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) granted Flybondi the authorization for Reduced Visibility Operations (CAT II).

This certification allows the company to operate in conditions of reduced visibility of 300 m and adverse weather conditions in airports such as Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery, Ezeiza International Airport, Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo International Airport.

«Being the first low-cost airline in the country to achieve this certification is a source of pride and demonstrates the true teamwork of all of us who make Flybondi. Our pilots, maintenance personnel and our aircraft are already prepared for this new stage, where we will be able to operate in low visibility days in those airports that have the capacity to assist these operations,» said Eduardo Gaspari, Flybondi’s Chief Operation Officer.

«Our main objective is that more and more people achieve the freedom to fly and that they receive a service with the highest safety standards in the industry at an international level», he added.

To achieve certification, Flybondi’s Operations and Maintenance Departments worked together to design the processes and manuals that were later certified by the aeronautical authority.

They also carried out the instruction and training of pilots in flight simulators, adaptation of the equipment to the aircraft and training of the maintenance team. At the end of this stage, a demonstration period was carried out in which more than 30 flights were performed to validate the procedures presented above and thus obtain certification.
