Conviasa resumes its Bogotá (BOG) operations after 5 years: the state-owned airline will offer non-stop service from Caracas (CCS) with a weekly frequency as of September 26 under charter operation modality. The company’s last regular passenger operation to the Colombian capital was completed on July 31, 2017.
Recently the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) added Colombia to the list of countries with authorized commercial passenger and cargo flights in Venezuelan territory, air operations between both nations were suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Conviasa will be the first airline to reconnect Venezuela and Colombia after more than two years, thanks to the opening of the borders announced by both presidents. The company soon expects to operate regularly between Caracas (CCS) and Bogota (BOG), with a tentative schedule:
Flight Itinerary
- Caracas – Bogota Flight V0 3646 CCS 12:00 – BOG 12:50 Monday and Thursday.
- Caracas – Bogota Flight V0 3448 CCS 20:00 – BOG 20:50 Tuesday and Friday.
- Bogota – Caracas Flight V0 3647 BOG 13:50 – CCS 16:40 Monday and Thursday.
- Caracas – Bogota Flight V0 3649 BOG 21:50 – CCS 00:40+1 Tuesday and Friday.
The route will be operated in Embraer E190 aircraft with a capacity of 104 seats in single configuration and promotional fares are available from USD 500 round trip, which includes the check-in of a 23 kg suitcase.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aerocivil Statistics 160,237 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Caracas (CCS) and Bogota (BOG), the Colombian capital is one of the main international destinations in Venezuela, only behind Panama and Madrid.
Conviasa in its schedule offers regular flights to Cancun (CUN), Mexico City (NLU), Havana (HAV), St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVD), Santa Cruz de la Viru Viru (VVI), Panama – Tocumen (PTY) and Managua (MGA); it also offers special services to Guayaquil (GYE), Quito (UIO) and Lima (LIM).
