Spirit Airlines is expanding its operations from Kansas City (MCI) with new seasonal nonstop service from Phoenix – Sky Harbor (PHX). Beginning November 7, the low-cost carrier will have its fourth winter operating route at MCI.

From Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), the airline will offer 8 non-stop domestic destinations: part of its network is concentrated in cities in the central United States.

Flight Itinerary

  • Phoenix – Kansas City Flight NK 931 PHX 06:00 – MCI 09:25 daily flights.
  • Kansas City – Phoenix Flight NK 936 MCI 10:15 – PHX 12:03 daily flights.

«We listened to our Kansas City guests and are excited to offer more convenient options to vacation destinations in the Southwest,» said John Kirby, vice president of network planning for Spirit Airlines.

«We are eager to offer MCI travelers low fares to Phoenix ahead of the vacation travel season,» Kirby added.

Spirit’s growth in Kansas City includes an increase in service to Las Vegas (LAS) moving to two daily flights in September. The new service to Phoenix (PHX) increases the offering of sunny destinations at MCI, with the goal of providing greater travel options for customers in the winter.

Spirit’s Kansas City schedule

  • Phoenix (PHX) daily flights (Seasonal) on Airbus A320.
  • Las Vegas (LAS) two daily flights on Airbus A320.
  • Los Angeles (LAX) daily flights on Airbus A320.
  • Orlando (MCO) daily flights on Airbus A319.

«We are pleased that Spirit Airlines continues to invest in Kansas City and expand service here,» said Pat Klein, Director of the Kansas City Aviation Department.

«Phoenix has long been a popular destination and this route will provide travelers with additional options to the city,» Klein commented.
