JetSMART Argentina to fly to Rio de Janeiro

Starting December 6th, JetSMART Argentina will inaugurate flights between Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. Services will be operated with Airbus A320-200 aircraft with 186 seats in single class.

The Brazilian city will be the low cost carrier’s fourth international destination from Buenos Aires. It currently operates to Santiago de Chile, Lima begins on September 21st and Asuncion starts in mid-November.

JetSMART Argentina’s international routes

  • Asuncion (ASU): effective November 15th
  • Lima (LIM): effective September 21st
  • Rio de Janeiro (GIG): effective December 6th
  • Santiago de Chile (SCL)

The launch price of the route is 29,900 Argentine pesos per leg, although according to its commercial manager, Dario Ratinoff, the complete trip would reach 49,900 pesos, due to the difference in taxes between Brazil and Argentina.

As reported, JetSMART will fly between Santiago de Chile and Rio de Janeiro from December the 29th. The company will offer five operations per week with Airbus A320 aircraft.
