Frontier Airlines Expands Atlanta’s International Network

Frontier Airlines schedules significant international expansion from Atlanta (ATL) with five new routes to Jamaica, El Salvador, Bahamas, and Costa Rica, complementing its operations from Cancun (CUN), Montego Bay (MBJ) and Punta Cana (PUJ), and will add service to Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL).

«We now offer a wide variety of flight options, including an impressive list of international destinations, giving Atlanta-area consumers even more opportunities to enjoy our ‘low fares done right.’ With the addition of these new routes, Frontier now serves thirty-six total nonstop destinations from ATL,» said Jake Filene, senior vice president, customer, Frontier Airlines.

Frontier is the only low-cost carrier to offer international flights from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) at affordable prices to Georgia residents, and to celebrate the launch of these new routes, the company will offer promotional fares starting as low as $69.

Schedule of new routes from Atlanta (ATL)
  • Nassau, Bahama (NAS) one weekly frequency starting November 5.
  • San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL) two weekly flights starting November 6.
  • Kingston, Jamaica (KIN) two flights weekly beginning November 7.
  • San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) twice weekly beginning November 17.
  • Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) one weekly frequency starting December 17.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Frontier will offer 50,944 seats per week in 272 air operations at Atlanta (ATL) for this winter boreal season, making it the fifth largest airline operator at this airport.

New service from Orlando (MCO) Guadalajara (GDL)

Frontier continues its expansion in Mexico starting November 6 with a new route between Orlando (MCO) and Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL) with two weekly flights, this is the airline’s second non-stop service from the state of Jalisco, complementing its operation from Las Vegas (LAS).

«This new service provides Orlando-area consumers with a new affordable and convenient option to reach this region of Mexico. It will also provide Mexican consumers with easy access to the most popular vacation destination in the U.S. along with a wealth of connection opportunities within Frontier’s extensive network,» said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president, commercial, Frontier Airlines.

Flight Itinerary
  • Orlando – Guadalajara Flight F9 223 MCO 14:44 – GDL 17:43 Thursday and Sunday.
  • Guadalajara – Orlando Flight F9 222 GDL 18:49 – MCO 23:25 Thursday and Sunday.

Flights will be operated in Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 186 seats in single configuration and promotional fares are available from USD 89.
