Starting July 30 Conviasa will have flights between Venezuela and China with a technical stopover in Iran. The state company will have a direct service between Caracas (CCS) and Guangzhou (CAN), in what will be the company’s second destination in Asia.
During the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, the Venezuelan flag carrier made multiple cargo flights to China, to mobilize medical supplies and vaccines. With this new route Conviasa will be the only South American operator to offer regular passenger flights to Baiyun International Airport (CAN).
Flight Itinerary
- Caracas (CCS) 22:00 – Guangzhou (CAN) 16:00+1 Saturday via Tehran (IKA)
- Guangzhou (CAN) 19:00 – Caracas (CCS) 13:30+1 Monday via Tehran (IKA)
The flights will be operated by Airbus A340 aircraft.
The state-owned airline continues to expand its international network from Venezuela’s allied countries, aiming to reaffirm commercial alliances. Recently the company announced its first destination in Africa to Algiers, Algeria (ALG) starting on July 27.

Conviasa will have 16 international destinations through 14 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the schedule includes: Algiers (ALG), Buenos Aires (EZE), Cancun (CUN), Guayaquil (GYE), Havana (HAV), Lima (LIM), Madrid (MAD) operated by Plus Ultra, Moscow – Vnukovo (VKO), Panama – Tocumen (PTY), Quito (UIO), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVD), Mexico City – Saint Lucia (NLU), Santiago de Chile (SCL), Tehran (IKA), Guangzhou (CAN) and Santa Cruz de Viru Viru (VVI).
Currently, the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) has authorized regular commercial passenger and cargo flights to the following countries: Brazil, Cuba, Turkey, Russia, Mexico, Bolivia, Panama, Portugal, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Spain, and Iran.
