LATAM Colombia formally requested the Colombian Civil Aeronautics to add a flight route to Venezuela, with a non-stop service between Bogota (BOG) – Caracas (CCS) – Bogota (BOG) with 7 weekly flights operated by Airbus A319 and/or Airbus A320 aircraft.
The company becomes the third Colombian operator to request routes to the neighboring country, joining the recent requests of Avianca and Wingo. Once the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) authorizes regular flights to Colombia, the company will schedule the start of its operations to Venezuela.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium four airlines were operating before the outbreak of the pandemic between Venezuela and Colombia with a capacity of 8,038 seats per week in 58 air operations. Wingo was the only Colombian operator in this market.
