On July 3 Plus Ultra inaugurated its non-stop services between Madrid (MAD) and Samaná (AZS) with a weekly flight. The return flight will have a stopover in Santo Domingo (SDQ), meaning that the company now offers two destinations in the Dominican Republic.
Flight PU 403 was operated by an Airbus A330 registered with registration EC-KOM, the aircraft took off from Terminal 4 of Adolfo Suarez Airport (MAD) at 13:58 local time and landed at El Catey International Airport (AZS) at 16:35.

Data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Estadísticas indicate that 4,850 passengers were mobilized in 20 air operations in 2021 between the Spanish capital and Samaná (AZS).
Flight Itinerary
- Madrid – Samana Flight PU 403 MAD 14:30 – AZS 17:20 Sunday.
- Samaná – Madrid Flight PU 404 AZS 19:20 – MAD 09:35+1 Sunday via Santo Domingo (SDQ).
The flights will be operated on Airbus A330-200 aircraft with a capacity of 299 seats in two classes (24 Business Class/275 Economy) and promotional fares start at 422 euros each way.
Plus Ultra will be the only airline operator to offer scheduled long-haul passenger services at El Catey International Airport (AZS) and is also the third non-stop connection between Madrid (MAD) and the Dominican Republic.
Dominican Republic last year was the main intercontinental market of Adolfo Suarez Airport (MAD), according to data obtained by Aena Statistics 593,885 passengers and 8,270 tons of cargo in 2,237 air operations were mobilized in 2021 between the Caribbean country and the Spanish capital, a recovery of 90.5%, 99.55% and 80.15% respectively when compared to 2019 levels.
