British Airways increases flights to Singapore and capacity to Australia

British Airways will increase its capacity on the London Heathrow (LHR) – Sydney (SYD) route via Singapore (SIN) for the 2022/2023 winter season. This will be achieved by changing the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to Boeing 777-300ER including the new Club World products and will add a second daily flight between the British capital and Changi International Airport (SIN).

Return of the Boeing 777-300ER to Sydney

From October 30, British Airways will change from Boeing 787-9 to 777-300ER, this aircraft has a capacity of 254 seats in four classes (8 First Class/ 76 Club World/ 40 World Traveller Plus/130 Economy), representing an 18% increase in the number of seats compared to the Dreamliner operation.

Flight Itinerary
  • London Heathrow – Singapore Flight BA 15 LHR 21:15 – SIN 17:45+1 daily flights.
  • Singapore – Sydney Flight BA 15 SIN 19:25 – SYD 05:10+1 daily flights.
  • Sydney – Singapore Flight BA 16 SYD 14:50 – SIN 21:05 daily flights.
  • Singapore – London Heathrow Flight BA 16 SIN 22:35 – LHR 05:30+1 daily flights.

Data obtained by Aviacionline through Civil Aviation Authority UK (CAA) indicate that in 2019 between the British capital and Sydney 179,503 passengers were mobilized, it was the largest route between UK and Oceania.

Double daily to Singapore

With the start of the boreal winter season, the British airline adds a second daily flight between London (LHR) and Changi International Airport (SIN), restoring complements its frequencies operated prior to the pandemic, this service will be operated in Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a capacity of 216 seats in four classes (8 First Class/ 42 Club World/ 39 World Traveller Plus/127 Economy).

British Airways will have an offer of 6,580 seats per week on this route, this represents a 61.35% recovery in seat capacity compared to the same period in 2019.

  • London Heathrow – Singapore Flight BA 11 LHR 18:50 – SIN 15:55+1 daily flights.
  • Singapore – London Heathrow Flight BA 12 SIN 23:15 – LHR 05:15+1 daily flights.

According to data compiled by the CAA, 1,526,634 passengers flew between the British capital and Changi International Airport, the second largest route between the United Kingdom and the Asia-Pacific region, behind only Hong Kong.
