American Airlines is adding new seasonal service from Austin (AUS) to Palm Springs (PSP) with daily flights: the route will be available from November 17, 2022 to November 29 and from December 15 to January 9, 2023. The Dallas-based carrier will compete on this route with Alaska Airlines.

With this new operation the carrier will offer three California destinations from Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), currently the company offers nonstop service from Los Angeles (LAX) with 20 weekly flights on Airbus A320/A319s and daily flights to Orange County (SNA), the latter destination moving from seasonal to year-round operation.

«American is pleased to provide Central Texas residents with more nonstop access to Southern California and Florida this winter,» said Philippe Puech, director of short-haul network planning for American Airlines.

«This additional flight is a direct response to the demand we saw in 2021. We look forward to connecting customers with family and friends this holiday season,» Puech added.

American will operate this service on Embraer E175 aircraft with 76-seat capacity (12 First Class/20 Main Cabin Extra/44 Economy), plus passengers will be able to enjoy onboard Wi-Fi service.

«Our airport continues to offer more flight options for area residents, making it easier for them to choose to support their local airport. I want to thank American for growing PSP,» said Harry Barrett, Executive Director of Aviation at Palm Springs Airport.

In addition to this new route to Austin (AUS), American Airlines three other destinations at Palm Springs (PSP) including Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Phoenix – Sky Harbor (PHX) that operate year-round and another seasonal service to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) that restarts on September 9, 2022.
