Norse Atlantic set to open base in Berlin and to offer New York/ Los Angeles flights

After announcing its first transatlantic routes, Norse Atlantic has updated its site and started the promotion of its new base: Berlin, Germany. From Brandenburg airport, the long-haul low-cost will offer routes to Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (JFK).

For BER-JFK route, operations will start on August 17, 2022; and the LAX connection is set to begin on August 19. Tickets are still not available for purchase, but the promotional fare one-way is set to begin at 138 USD.

The routes will be operated in Norse’s Boeing 787-9s with 56-seat premium and 309-seat economy. With the addition of Berlin, the carrier will have three operating bases in Europe.

Besides Norse’s main hub located in Oslo, last March the company secured slots at London/Gatwick (LGW) and plans to add other European destinations, such as Paris, as soon as the market situation allows.

During the last few months, the company has begun the process of recruiting pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance personnel, among others, planning a headcount of over 1,600 employees and has selected Fort Lauderdale, Florida as the company’s U.S. headquarters.
