KLM and Transavia choose Recaro seats to equip their Airbus A320neo and A321neo

At the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, seat manufacturer Recaro announced that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Transavia will equip their new Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft with BL3710 and SL3710 seats, designed for economy classes.

Deliveries to Transavia, which is owned by Air France-KLM, are scheduled to begin in September 2023. On the other hand, deliveries to its subsidiary in France would begin in October of the same year.

As reported by Recaro, KLM will opt for a hybrid layout: the BL3710 model will be installed at the front of the cabins and the SL3710 at the rear. Transavia Airlines and Transavia France will equip their aircraft with SL3710 seats.

Both seats will be customized with additional features. They will include BYOD support (only for KLM) and a high-power USB-C power outlet in the seatback. In addition, the seatbacks of both models were redesigned. Thanks to the improvements, they will offer greater comfort and reduce the weight of the aircraft. In this way, they will contribute to lower fuel consumption and associated emissions reductions.

«The right combination of comfort, reliability, weight, sustainability, carbon footprint reduction  and economics led to the  decision to work again with Recaro», said Boet Kreiken, EVP Customer Experience at KLM.
