Embraer inaugurates its Sorocaba services center expansion

-

The Brazilian aeronautical manufacturer Embraer inaugurated yesterday, June 21th, the new hangars of its services center in Sorocaba, state of São Paulo. As reported by the company, the useful area of the facilities doubled from the 20.000 square meters it had since its opening, in March 2014, to the current 40.000.

Now, the complex has four hangars. Three of them are dedicated to maintenance, repair and component overhaul (MRO) tasks. The remaining one is used for fixed-base operator (FBO) operations.

The Sorocaba center offers a complete portfolio of maintenance services, interior refurbishment, hangarage, airport services, stopover assistance and aircraft preservation. It also has approved workshops for various aeronautical components and the capability to perform aircraft modifications, such as the conversion of the Legacy 450 to the Praetor 500.

«There is consistent growth in the executive aviation segment in Brazil and we see great opportunities for the service sector in the coming years», said Johann Bordais, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support. «This investment reaffirms Embraer’s commitment to serving its customers more comprehensively and with even better support», he added.

For his part, Frank Stevens, VP Global MRO Centers at Embraer Services & Support, emphasized that the new facilities will allow the company to «meet both current and future demand» of executive, commercial and defense customers.

Embraer Sorocaba has received nine certifications from Brazilian and international agencies. These include Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). It currently supports the entire portfolio of aircraft produced by Embraer, in all the segments in which it offers products.
