Avianca and Easyfly enter into code-share agreement

After completing the formalization process, Avianca and EasyFly announced the beginning of the commercialization of their codeshare agreement.

In this first phase, travelers will be able to purchase tickets through Avianca’s sales channels to fly, starting June 6, on 17 regional routes operated by EasyFly with its fleet of ATR 42 and 72-600 aircraft.

By the second half of 2022, the companies will have the codeshare agreement operating 20 routes in its entirety, with the purpose of allowing domestic and international travelers to purchase connecting tickets on flights of the two airlines to fly to more than 70 regional, domestic, and international destinations.

The following routes that Avianca will have in its sales channels are:

  • Between Bogotá and: Barrancabermeja (EJA), Florencia (FLA), Manizales (MZL), Neiva (NVA), Popayán (PPN), Puerto Asís (PUU), Quibdó (UIB) and Yopal (EYP).
  • Between Arauca and: Bogotá (BOG), Bucaramanga (BGA) and Cúcuta (CUC).
  • Between Cali and: Guapi (GPI), Neiva (NVA), Pasto (PSO), Quibdó (UIB), Tumaco (TCO) and Villavicencio (VVC).

Achieving this shared code between Easyfly and Avianca represents collaborative work without ceasing to be competition, where the most benefited is the air service user who will now have a more robust and complete connectivity network, thus promoting the economic and social development of the regions,» said Alfonso Avila, President of Easyfly.

Avianca and Easyfly Destinations and Routes

Avianca currently offers 128 routes, more than 3,800 weekly flights and more than 600,000 seats per week connecting to 65 domestic and international destinations in the Americas and Europe. According to the Cirium intelligence platform, the international destinations operated from Colombia are the following:

South America

  • Argentina: Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE); with 14 weekly flights.
  • Brazil: Rio de Janeiro/Galeao (GIG) and São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU); with 28 weekly flights.
  • Bolivia: La Paz (LPA) and Santa Cruz de la Sierra/Viru Viru (VVI); with 14 weekly flights.
  • Chile: Santiago (SCL); from Bogotá (BOG); with 21 weekly flights.
  • Ecuador: Guayaquil (GYE) and Quito (UIO); with 39 weekly flights.
  • Paraguay: Asunción (ASU); from Bogotá (BOG); with 4 weekly flights.
  • Peru: Lima (LIM); from Bogotá (BOG); with 21 weekly flights.
  • Uruguay: Montevideo (MVD); from Bogotá (BOG); with 4 weekly flights.

Central America and Caribbean

  • Aruba: Oranjestad (AUA); with 9 weekly flights.
  • Costa Rica: San José/Alajuela (SJO); with 21 weekly flights.
  • Curaçao: Willemstad (CUR); with 6 weekly flights.
  • El Salvador: San Salvador (SAL); with 10 weekly flights.
  • Guatemala: Guatemala City (GUA); with 11 weekly flights.
  • Puerto Rico: San Juan (SJU); with 7 weekly flights.
  • Dominican Republic: Punta Cana (PUJ) and Santo Domingo/Las Americas (SDQ); with 91 weekly flights.

North America

  • Canada: Toronto/Pearson (YYZ); with 7 weekly flights.
  • United States: Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO) and Washington/Dulles (IAD); with 114 weekly flights.
  • Mexico: Cancun (CUN) and Mexico City (MEX); 52 weekly flights.

Europe

  • Spain: Barcelona (BCN) and Madrid (MAD); with 35 weekly flights.
  • United Kingdom: London/Heathrow (LHR); with 7 weekly flights.
Easyfly network of destinations by June 2022.

EasyFly network has 57 routes, more than 1,000 flights per week and more than 53,000 weekly seats connecting Colombia’s regions, with hubs in Bogotá (BOG), Medellín/Olaya Herrera (EOH), Cali (CLO) and Bucaramanga (BGA).

The airline seeks to transport more than 2.5 million travelers this year, with a considerable increase in routes: from 57 to 74 in 42 Colombian cities (adding 11 new destinations), and a coverage of 90% of the national territory.
