WestJet inaugurates flights to Chicago

As business and leisure travel picks up, this Thursday (May 19) WestJet inaugurated a new cross-border service between Toronto (YYZ) and Chicago (ORD), with daily flights that will be available year-round. The airline will offer 1,092 seats per week.

Flight WR 3674 took off from Lester Pearson International Airport at 15:36 local time and landed at O’Hare Airport at 16:46. This new operation will allow the airline to offer convenient connections for the busy summer season.

Flight Itinerary

  • Toronto – Chicago Flight WR 3674 YYZ 15:35 – ORD 16:26
  • Chicago – Toronto Flight WR 3675 ORD 17:10 – YYZ 20:15

The flights will be operated through WestJet’s regional airline subsidiary Encore on 78-seat, two-class (10 Premium Economy/68 Economy) De Havilland Canada Dash 8 – Q400 aircraft.

«We are delighted to offer daily nonstop service between Toronto and Chicago, two dynamic global cities,» said John Weatherill, WestJet’s chief commercial officer.
«Our newest cross-border route gives guests greater options to discover these two vibrant cities or connect seamlessly to their destination of choice through our expansive network,» added Wetherill.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), 1,005,811 passengers were flown between Chicago O’ Hare (ORD) and Toronto – Pearson (YYZ) in 2019, it was the Windy City’s top cross-border service and second internationally.
