Gol and American Airlines further expand frequent flyer benefits integration

-

American Airlines and GOL took another step in their partnership to ensure that members of their loyalty programs enjoy an integrated experience with the most benefits.

American Airlines AAdvantage members and their companions now receive free GOL+ Comfort seats, subject to availability, as well as priority check-in and boarding on all flights operated by the Brazilian carrier, our partner site Aeroin.net reported.

To the same extent, GOL SMILES Diamond members guarantee access to complimentary seats in Main Cabin Extra and Preferred, as well as priority check-in, boarding and baggage when flying on flights operated by American.

«Always thinking of our customers first, the inclusion of the loyalty programs in the partnership transforms all travel between destinations operated by American and GOL into an even more exclusive, complete and enjoyable experience, from the purchase of the ticket to its final destination,» said Carolina Trancucci, GOL’s Director of Products and Customer Relations.

Together, American and GOL offer customers more than 30 destinations in the United States served by American and more than 34 destinations in South America served by GOL. Later this year, loyalty program members will have access to additional benefits, including baggage allowances and more ways to redeem miles on both airlines.

GOL and AA began their codeshare partnership in 2019, and in March 2021 the commercial agreement in Brazil was approved and became codeshare-only in September. In April of this year, the airlines signed a definitive investment agreement in which American will invest $200 million in 22.2 million newly issued preferred shares of GOL.
