Air Europa will resume flights to Athens and Alghero this summer

-

Spanish airline Air Europa announced that it will resume operations to Athens and Alghero next summer. Both destinations will be served by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The airline will reach 35 domestic and European destinations during the next summer season.

Flights to Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (ATH) will begin in June. Air Europa will operate two weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays and Sundays, between its Madrid-Barajas hub and the Greek capital. According to the company, it will offer more than 28,000 seats between the two cities, exceeding the 2019 summer season offering. Operations will conclude at the end of October.

In July, Air Europa will inaugurate flights to Alghero-Fertilia Airport (AHO) in northwest Sardinia. It will offer two weekly connections in both directions, on Thursdays and Saturdays. The airline will operate more than 30 flights until early September, when it will discontinue services.

Both destinations are attractive for the holiday season due to their geographical location close to the Mediterranean, their wide range of services and their proximity to other points of interest.

According to the company, the opening of both routes is part of its expansion plan in Europe and is facilitated by the sustained increase in sales observed since the end of 2021.
