Sky High Dominicana joins ALTA

The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced the incorporation of Sky High Dominicana as a new member of the association.

Founded in March 2011, the airline began operating air tours within the Dominican Republic and over the years has expanded its range of operations, becoming the first Dominican airline to offer scheduled flights to major Caribbean destinations.

«We are very happy to welcome the entire Sky High team to ALTA and reinforce the work we have been developing in the Caribbean, a region where aviation and tourism play a fundamental role in the socio-economic well-being of the population,» said José Ricardo Botelho, CEO of ALTA.

Sky High Aviation Services Dominicana, S.A. operates scheduled flights to:

  • Tortola (2 weekly flights).

«Sky High has enormous potential and is making significant strides with growth prospects. I am sure that its participation in ALTA will be of great value to continue developing connectivity and bringing more people the opportunity to make use of air transportation», concluded Botelho.

Sky High currently has a fleet of three Embraer-145LRs with a 50-seat capacity. It is also in the process of acquiring two 97-seat Embraer 190s, which will enable it to continue strengthening its scheduled and charter flight operations.

Sky High transported more than 80 thousand passengers in 2021, with a projection to surpass that mark in 2022. Soon the airline will start operations from Santo Domingo to Venezuela (Caracas, Valencia, Maracaibo, Margarita) and Miami.

«For us (Sky High), safety and quality are the highest priority. It is a great step to be part of ALTA. Fundamental to enrich our experience and to keep us at the forefront by sharing with other members in the different conferences and forums. Definitely a great opportunity,» concluded Juan Chamizo, CEO of Sky High.
