Electric aviation and unmanned flight systems company Pipistrel, and Lobo Leasing Limited, a global leading platform for VTOLs, signed a letter of intent that provides for the acquisition of 15 NUUVA V300 autonomous cargo aircraft.
The Pipistrel-developed NUUVA V300 is an electric-powered vertical take-off and landing vehicle, which has a capacity of three cubic meters and can carry up to 460 kg for up to 400 km.
According to the manufacturer, the aircraft “is designed to operate 10 times more economically than current helicopters, requires no runways, and provides greater safety and reliability using Pipistrel’s already certified electric motors.”
As part of the agreement, the companies will collaborate to generate and connect an operator and investor base to provide leasing solutions for customers to drive the insertion of this unmanned model globally.
Bryan Wood, head of business development for special products at Pipistrel, said that “the structure of the Lobo platform, its intelligent system of financial solutions, and its extensive knowledge of the global vertical lift market add key elements to this new ecosystem and provide OEMs with a strategic differential to meet the needs of aircraft operators and promote the introduction, growth, and consolidation of VTOL technology worldwide.
