Interjet will denounce its former directors

-

The airline’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Carlos del Valle, announced that Interjet will denounce its former directors. Complaints about embezzlement will be filed in Colombia and Mexico.

In a video posted on his social networks, del Valle said that during his tour of the South American country, in addition to «talking to airline and airport executives» in an attempt to fix the disaster of past administrations, he will take the opportunity to file criminal complaints against the airline’s former directors, William Shaw and José Luis Garza. According to del Valle, the former executives are suspected of having carried out actions «for the embezzlement and corruption against the airline».

Del Valle specified that in the case of former CEO William Shaw, the complaint will be filed in Mexico and Colombia since it is presumed that the ill-gotten funds were sent to this country.

«We presume that it was with these economic resources that he opened his new airline in this South American country,» del Valle told Milenio. Shaw is the founder and president of the Colombian airline Ultra Air.  This ultra-low-cost airline recently began operations in the country.

Shaw began his career as a traffic agent at an airport counter in Mexico City. Last September he told Forbes Colombia that during his time at Interjet, results improved by 87%, but that the airline required an investment «that wasn’t put in place». He also claims that the decision to sell the airline was made by the Alemán family and that it was this situation that led him to leave the company just one year after his appointment.

On the other hand, del Valle said that he will also denounce in Mexico the former director José Luis Garza. This person is involved in the creation of a new airline in the country, named Aerala. According to the plans presented, this airline plans to start operations in the second half of the year from the Felipe Angeles International Airport.
